Terms of Service

The service

NAVTRL provides real-time location sharing, crews, safety zones, markers, journeys, and safety alerts. These features depend on your device, GPS, cellular/Wi-Fi coverage, battery, and third-party services, and may be delayed, inaccurate, or unavailable.

Not an emergency service

NAVTRL is not a substitute for emergency services. SOS, check-ins, dead-man timers, journeys, zones, and alerts are convenience features and may fail to send, deliver, or detect events. In an emergency, always contact local emergency services (such as 911) directly, and carry appropriate backup such as a satellite communicator, radio, map, and a plan. Do not rely on NAVTRL as your sole safety system.

Accuracy & reliability limitations

Location data can be wrong, stale, or missing due to GPS conditions, terrain, signal, battery saving, or device behavior. Arrival detection, zone crossings, and offline detection are best-effort and may produce false positives or miss events. You accept these limitations.

Your responsibilities

You agree to provide accurate information, keep your account secure, and use NAVTRL lawfully. You will only share the location of people who have consented, only join crews you are invited to, and only send watch links to people you trust. You are responsible for the content you create and the people you share with.

Location sharing & public watch links

Crews share live location among members while sharing is on. Journeys create a public watch link that anyone with the link can open until the journey ends. You are responsible for who you share links with. Do not share another person’s location or links without their consent.

User-generated content

You retain ownership of content you create (markers, names, notes, photos). You grant us a limited license to host and display it to your crews to operate the service. You must have the rights to anything you upload, and it must not be unlawful, infringing, or harmful.

Acceptable use & abuse prevention

You may not use NAVTRL to stalk, harass, surveil without consent, impersonate, track people unlawfully, or for any illegal or unsafe purpose. We may suspend or remove accounts, crews, content, or invites that violate these Terms or put people at risk.

Account & termination

You may delete your account anytime from Settings → Delete Account; deletion is permanent and removes your data as described in the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these Terms or to protect users and the service.

Subscriptions

Some features may require a paid subscription billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled in your store account at least 24 hours before the period ends. Manage or cancel through your store account.

Disclaimers & limitation of liability

NAVTRL is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, NAVTRL is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any loss or harm arising from reliance on location data, alerts, or safety features.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the applicable laws of Canada, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.

Changes

We may update these Terms; continued use after changes means you accept them.
