How Journey Watch Links Work
A Journey creates a capability link that lets selected recipients follow that Journey’s live progress on the web. Treat the link as sensitive because anyone who receives it may be able to view that Journey.
Steps
- Start the Journey.
- Complete any SMS/email composer or share the watch link.
- End or complete the Journey when sharing should stop.
How this works
A watch link is a capability, not an account check. Anyone holding it may be able to view that Journey's live progress until the Journey ends, which is why forwarding it widens the audience with no further approval.
STALKR does not deliver the message for you. Opening a composer only prepares it; nothing reaches the recipient until you press send in that app.
Live updates depend on the traveler's device continuing to report and on connectivity at both ends. A watcher looking at an unchanged position is seeing the last update that arrived, not a claim that the traveler has stopped.
What happens next
The saved change appears in the relevant map, library, or sharing scope when the service confirms it.
Common problems
- Opening a composer does not guarantee the message was sent; you must press Send.
- Live updates require the traveler’s device and service connectivity.
- A link that has been forwarded cannot be un-forwarded; ending the Journey is what stops the sharing.
