Self position, member locations, search, layers, and measuring
The map is the primary field surface: your own fix, members of the selected Crew, Markers, Zones, member trails, Routes, Checkpoints, and any active Journey, plus the tools that create them.
Only one authoring tool can own the map at a time. If MARK, ZONES, or Measure is active, the next one refuses to start until the first is cancelled — which is usually why a tap does nothing you expected.
Map Layers is a drawing control and nothing more. Hiding Zones, Routes, or marker types changes what is rendered; it does not delete objects, stop Zone monitoring, or cancel alerts. A Route you are actively following is the one intentional exception and stays drawn.
Map tiles come from Google and may be cached opportunistically. That is not a downloadable offline map and should not be planned around. Member trails are drawn from positions a member already published, so a gap in their sharing is a gap in the line — an absent trail is not evidence that nobody moved.
How to Use the STALKR Map
The map combines your position, active Crew members, Markers, Zones, Trails, Routes, Checkpoints, and Journeys. Tap an object for details; use the drawer for field actions and Map Layers for rendering controls.
How the Self Marker Works
Your self marker uses the local GPS fix. Its halo shows accuracy and its arrow shows device-facing direction only when STALKR has a trustworthy compass heading.
How to Find a Crew Member
Select the correct Crew, then tap the member marker or use the visible Crew/member controls to open their card. The marker’s timestamp and presence label tell you whether the point is current.
How Map Layers Work
Map Layers show or hide Zones, Routes and Checkpoints, Trails, places/businesses, photo previews, and marker types. Layer switches affect drawing only; they do not delete data or disable Zone monitoring.
How to Measure Distance
Open the map measure tool, choose points on the map, and read the straight-line distance and bearing. The measurement is local and is not saved as a Route.
