Record movement, pause, add Checkpoints, and finish safely
A Track records movement that actually happened: a timestamped GPS trail with an activity type, duration, distance, movement and rest statistics, and quality diagnostics. It is personal history, not Crew sharing — recording does not publish your position, and being Live does not record.
The server row is created before recording starts, so a Track cannot be started without connectivity. The active line is local while it runs, but no durable offline point outbox sits behind it.
Pausing pauses recording only. Crew Live sharing carries on exactly as you set it, and the statistics keep paused time separate from recorded movement.
Reliable recording with the screen locked needs Always location, and background continuity is still pending full physical-device validation. Force-quitting stops ordinary background location updates, so verify a Track after the field session rather than assuming it is complete.
How to Start a Track
Open the map drawer, tap TRACK, choose an activity, optionally name it, and tap START TRACK. A Track records movement with no destination required.
How to Pause or Resume a Track
Use the pause button in the Track HUD to stop adding Track points; press play to resume. Your Crew can still see you while the Track is paused if that Crew remains Live.
How to Add a Checkpoint During a Track
Tap ADD CHECKPOINT in the Track HUD. STALKR captures your position immediately, then lets you choose a type, name, note, and photos before saving it to the running Track.
How to Finish a Track
Tap Stop in the Track HUD. Review the recording, then choose SAVE TRACK, SAVE AS ROUTE, or the two-step DISCARD action. The review cannot be dismissed without choosing an outcome.
How to Turn a Track into a Route
Finish the Track and choose SAVE AS ROUTE, or open the Track later from Routes → TRACKS and choose Save as Route. Name the Route and save it.
Can STALKR Record With the Screen Locked?
Background recording is implemented for devices that grant Always location, but it remains subject to iOS execution and physical-device validation. Do not force-quit STALKR during a recording.
