Zones
Circle and polygon areas, monitoring, visibility, and alerts
A Zone is an area; a Safe Zone Marker is a point. Zones are Crew-scoped and carry their own appearance, visibility, monitoring, applicable-member, and Enter/Leave alert settings.
Those settings are independent, and confusing them is the most common Zone problem. Monitoring decides whether crossings are evaluated at all; the Enter and Leave toggles decide which transitions alert; Map Layers visibility decides only whether the shape is drawn. Hiding a Zone leaves it monitoring and alerting.
The first trustworthy observation after monitoring starts primes a baseline silently. Being inside a Zone when monitoring begins is not an entry — only a real transition afterwards counts.
Background evaluation uses background location updates and iOS region monitoring, both of which need Always access, and the OS decides when the app runs. Polygon Zones and Zone alerts require Pro in the current plan matrix, and the free saved-place limit can block creation before geometry matters.
How to Create a Zone
Open the map drawer, tap ZONES, choose Circle or Polygon, place it on the map, configure the Zone, and save it. Circle Zones use a centre and radius; Polygon Zones require at least three points.
How to Edit a Zone
Tap the Zone on the map, open its details, change supported name, appearance, monitoring, visibility, member applicability, or alert settings, and save.
How to Delete a Zone
Open the Zone details, choose Delete, and confirm. Hiding the Zone layer is not deletion.
How Zone Alerts Work
Zone monitoring decides whether STALKR evaluates crossings; Enter and Leave toggles decide which real transitions alert. Map Layers visibility only decides whether the shape is drawn.
What Happens When You Hide Zones
Turning Zones off in Map Layers hides their shapes only. It does not delete them, turn off monitoring, or disable their Enter/Leave alert settings.
