Live, Dark, delivery health, and stale locations

Live publishes your current authorized position to one Crew, along with direction, accuracy, status, and battery information where the device reports it. It is per Crew: being Live in one says nothing about another, and it neither starts nor stops a Journey.

There is no durable offline outbox. A write that fails is not queued for later delivery, so a gap in the map is a gap rather than a backlog waiting to flush, and repeated failures raise a delivery warning while the device may still hold a perfectly good fix.

Dark stops new fixes for the selected Crew. It is not a deletion — the last position you were authorized to share stays with that Crew, labelled offline or stale by age — and it cannot override a Crew that enforces tracking.

Presence is derived from the last successful timestamp, so live, stale, and unknown describe data age, not people. Nothing raises a low-signal alert; reading the timestamp on a member card is the check.
