How Map Layers Work
Short answer
Map Layers show or hide Zones, Routes and Checkpoints, Trails, places/businesses, photo previews, and marker types. Layer switches affect drawing only; they do not delete data or disable Zone monitoring.
Steps
- Open Map Layers.
- Toggle the layer or marker type.
- Use MANAGE ROUTES to open the Route library.
What happens next
The saved change appears in the relevant map, library, or sharing scope when the service confirms it.
Common problems
- A Route being actively followed stays visible even when Routes are hidden.
- To stop that line, use STOP FOLLOWING.
