- Clear or cancel when finished.
How this works
Measure is deliberately local and unsaved. It reports straight-line distance and bearing between the points you place, creates no Marker, Checkpoint, or Route, and publishes nothing to your Crew.
It is point-to-point map distance, not a navigable path. It takes no account of terrain, trails, or roads, so treat the result as a bearing and a number rather than a plan.
Because it is a map tool, it owns the map while it is open — another tool cannot start until you cancel it.
What happens next
Clearing or cancelling leaves nothing behind; there is no saved object to find later.
Common problems
- Another active map tool must be cancelled before Measure can take the map.
- Useful map tiles are not guaranteed without connectivity.
- A measurement cannot be promoted into a Route; Routes come from completed Tracks.
