How to Create a Marker
Short answer
Open the map drawer, tap MARK, choose a marker type, then tap the map where it belongs. Creating a Crew Marker requires an active Crew and contributor authority.
Steps
- Select the intended Crew.
- Open the drawer and tap MARK.
- Choose Waypoint, Danger, Safe Zone, Camp, Vehicle, Animal Sign, Evidence, Supply Cache, or Custom.
- Tap the map to place it and complete its details.
How this works
Markers belong to a Crew. Creating one needs an active Crew and contributor authority in it, and the Marker appears for that Crew alone.
Saving is a server write with no offline queue. If the write fails the Marker is not created and is not retried later, though Markers already loaded stay visible in memory.
Your self marker can be used as the placement point, which is the only reason marker creation ever asks about your location.
What happens next
The Marker appears for the Crew over its realtime subscription, and members with the right authority can edit or move it.
Common problems
- If another map tool is active, cancel it first.
- Saving requires connectivity.
- Without contributor authority in the active Crew, creation is refused.
