How to Manage Emergency Contacts

Short answer

Open Settings → Safety & Alerts → Emergency Contacts. Add a person manually or choose from device Contacts, then use them as Journey watchers or safety recipients.

  1. Open Emergency Contacts.
  2. Add manually or choose from Contacts.
  3. Save the contact.

What happens next

The saved change appears in the relevant map, library, or sharing scope when the service confirms it.

Common problems

  • Contacts permission is requested only for the device picker.
  • Saving a contact does not send them a message.
