How to Add a Checkpoint During a Track
Short answer
Tap ADD CHECKPOINT in the Track HUD. STALKR captures your position immediately, then lets you choose a type, name, note, and photos before saving it to the running Track.
Steps
- Tap ADD CHECKPOINT while recording.
- Confirm the captured coordinate.
- Choose a type and optional details.
- Tap SAVE CHECKPOINT, then optionally add a photo.
How this works
The coordinate is captured when the sheet opens, not when you press save. That is deliberate: you mark the place you are standing, then take as long as you need to describe it.
A Checkpoint created during a Track belongs to that Track. Saving the Track as a Route later copies its Checkpoints, so editing a Route copy never changes the original.
A usable GPS fix is required, and creation and photo upload are server operations that are not queued offline.
What happens next
The Checkpoint is attached to the running Track and appears in its detail view afterwards.
Common problems
- No usable GPS fix means no Checkpoint can be saved.
- The coordinate is captured when the sheet opens, not after typing.
- Checkpoints are personal; they are not published to your Crew the way a Marker is.
