How to Create a Zone
Open the map drawer, tap ZONES, choose Circle or Polygon, place it on the map, configure the Zone, and save it. Circle Zones use a centre and radius; Polygon Zones require at least three points.
Steps
- Select the intended Crew.
- Open the drawer and tap ZONES.
- Choose Circle or Polygon.
- For Circle: tap a centre, drag to size, and confirm. For Polygon: tap at least three points and tap FINISH.
- Set name, monitoring, alerts, visibility, and appearance, then save.
How this works
A Zone is an area; a Safe Zone Marker is a point. Zones are Crew-scoped and carry their own settings for appearance, visibility, monitoring, which members they apply to, and Enter/Leave alerts.
Those settings are independent. Creating a Zone does not start evaluating it — monitoring does — and evaluating it while the app is backgrounded needs Always location.
Polygon Zones and Zone alerts require Pro in the current plan matrix, and the free saved-place limit can block creation before shape or settings matter.
What happens next
The Zone appears for the Crew and begins evaluating crossings only if monitoring is enabled.
