How to Set Up Your First Crew
Open the map navigation drawer, choose CREWS, tap NEW CREW, name it, choose whether tracking is enforced if your plan allows it, and create it.
Steps
- Open the drawer from the map.
- Choose CREWS, then NEW CREW.
- Enter a Crew name and choose the tracking rule.
- Tap GENERATE ENCRYPTED INVITE.
How this works
The Crew you create is an authorization boundary, not a label. Member locations, Markers, Zones, and Crew events belong to one Crew and do not appear in another, so the Crew selected in the map header is the scope you are acting in.
Free accounts can hold up to 2 Crews with up to 5 members each; Pro raises both configured limits.
Enforced tracking is an admin control rather than a personal preference: while it is on, nobody in that Crew, including the owner, can go Dark until an owner turns it off in Crew settings.
What happens next
The Crew becomes selectable from the map header and starts empty. People appear only after they ask to join with the code and an admin accepts them.
Common problems
- A Crew name is required, and creation is a server write that needs connectivity.
- Reaching your plan's Crew limit opens the upgrade screen instead of creating the Crew.
- Creating a Crew does not turn sharing on; Live is still a separate choice for that Crew.
